Your Guide to Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurants Around Manhattan Beach
We get it: you have a group of friends who are trying to accommodate gluten-free, soy-free, vegetarian, and vegan. What are your dining options? Here’s a quick guide to South Bay restaurants within an easy commute from our hotel.
Lil Vegerie is an option that fits the bill. As its menu states: “Lil’ Vegerie is vegan, gluten-free and soy-free … we use avocado oil, extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil … many recipes also contain nuts such as coconut and cashews…” Note that this is more of a casual, takeout joint than a fine dining establishment.
Rice is a healthy walk away from The Sea View Inn. It’s vegan-friendly and gluten-free. Good options include spicy tofu, vegan sushi (made with brown rice), miso ramen, sauteed brussel sprouts, and grilled eggplant. Of course, there’s the perennial favorite – vegetable tempura!
Happy Veggie – This is a vegan’s paradise. Founded over 20 years ago, this Vietnamese restaurant serves up pho, pad thai, golden tofu, curry soup, and fresh spring rolls. Delicious and reasonably priced. Enjoy!
True Food - True Food Kitchen emphasizes wholesome, simple ingredients with simple preparations to highlight the natural health benefits and flavors of each ingredient. Located at The Point in El Segundo, it’s a 10-minute drive from Manhattan Beach. This restaurant acts like the The Cheesecake Factory without the guilt with something for everyone: healthy bowls, salads, grains, pizza, burgers, fish, and cocktails.
Veggie Grill – This is a fast-casual option for vegan burgers, bowls, salads, and sandwiches. If you’re in a hurry, easily order ahead for quick pick up. Hint: try the truffle mac + cheese.
