The sand is calling, and professional beach volleyball's elite are answering. The Hermosa Beach Open will continue the rich tradition of professional volleyball on the sand when it returns to the beach town for the second year, beginning Thursday, September 4th.
The Hermosa Beach Open presented by Wedbush returns September 4–7, bringing four days of elite professional beach volleyball, a $150,000 prize purse, and global spectators to Hermosa Beach. The free event features 64 teams competing at the iconic Hermosa Beach Pier Courts.
The main draw features 32 women's and 32 men's teams competing in a double-elimination format. This world-class tournament brings together top athletes from around the globe, including last year's Hermosa Open winners, and this year's Manhattan Open winners Chase Budinger and Miles Evans, 2008 Beijing Olympics Gold Medalist Phil Dalhausser, Taylor and Trever Crabb, and last year's Hermosa Open women's winner, and Paris Olympian Kelly Cheng.
